Terms of Service

01 Acceptance of Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") constitute a legally binding agreement between you and ScanAndSave ("Company", "we", "us", or "our") governing your access to and use of the ScanAndSave mobile application and related services (collectively, the "Service").

By creating an account, downloading the app, or using any part of the Service, you confirm that:

• You are at least 13 years of age (or 16 in the EU)
• You have the legal capacity to enter into a binding agreement
• You agree to comply with these Terms and all applicable laws

02 Service Description

ScanAndSave provides a mobile document scanning application that includes:

• Free tier: document scanning, OCR text extraction, local PDF/image storage, and basic document management on-device
• Premium tier: all free features plus encrypted cloud backup, multi-device access, and document download capabilities

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any aspect of the Service at any time with reasonable notice where practicable.

03 Account Registration & Security

To use certain features of ScanAndSave, you must create an account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete registration information
• Maintain the security of your password and account credentials
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised access to your account at security@scanandsave.com
• Accept responsibility for all activities that occur under your account
• Not share your account credentials with any third party

We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that we believe have been compromised or are being used fraudulently.

04 Acceptable Use

You agree to use ScanAndSave only for lawful purposes. You must not:

• Upload, store, or transmit any content that is illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, defamatory, obscene, or that infringes the rights of others
• Use the Service to scan or store documents in violation of applicable copyright, privacy, or data protection laws
• Attempt to gain unauthorised access to the Service, other accounts, or our systems
• Reverse-engineer, decompile, or attempt to extract the source code of our application
• Use automated scripts, bots, or tools to access the Service in violation of its rate limits
• Use the Service to scan or process documents containing personal data of third parties without their consent
• Resell, sublicense, or commercially exploit the Service without our written permission

05 Premium Subscription & Billing

Subscription plans: Premium access is available on a monthly subscription basis, billed through your app store account (Google Play or Apple App Store).

Billing:

• Charges are made to your Google Play or App Store payment method at the start of each billing cycle
• Your subscription auto-renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends
• Prices are displayed in your local currency and may vary by region
• We are not responsible for charges arising from currency conversions or banking fees

Cancellation & Refunds:

• You may cancel your subscription at any time via your Google Play or App Store account settings
• Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you retain Premium access until then
• Refunds are handled by Google Play or the Apple App Store under their respective refund policies — we do not issue refunds directly
• We do not provide prorated refunds for mid-period cancellations

Free trials: where a free trial is offered, you will be charged the standard subscription price after the trial period ends unless you cancel before the trial expires.

06 Your Content & Documents

Ownership: You retain full ownership of all documents, images, and content you create or upload to ScanAndSave ("Your Content"). We claim no ownership of Your Content.

Licence to us: By using the cloud backup feature, you grant us a limited, non-exclusive, royalty-free licence to store, process, and transmit Your Content solely for the purpose of providing the Service to you. This licence terminates when you delete the content or close your account.

Your responsibility: You are solely responsible for:

• Ensuring you have the legal right to scan and store any documents
• Complying with any applicable data protection laws when scanning documents containing third-party personal data
• Maintaining backup copies of important documents — we are not liable for data loss

07 Intellectual Property

All rights, title, and interest in and to the ScanAndSave application, including its design, code, branding, logos, and features (excluding Your Content), are owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws.

We grant you a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for personal, non-commercial use in accordance with these Terms.

You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, or lease any part of our Service without our prior written permission.

08 Disclaimers & Limitation of Liability

Service "as is": The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, either express or implied, including but not limited to warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, or non-infringement.

We do not warrant that:

• The Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or secure
• OCR results will be 100% accurate
• Any errors in the Service will be corrected
• The Service will meet your specific requirements

Limitation of liability: To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, including but not limited to loss of data, loss of profits, or loss of documents, arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

Our total liability to you for any claims arising from the Service shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim.

09 Termination

By you: You may stop using the Service and delete your account at any time through the app settings.

By us: We may suspend or terminate your account, with or without notice, if:

• You violate these Terms or any applicable law
• We are required to do so by law or a court order
• We discontinue the Service

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections of these Terms that by their nature should survive termination (including intellectual property, disclaimers, and limitation of liability) will continue to apply.

10 Governing Law & Disputes

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any disputes arising in connection with these Terms will be resolved through good-faith negotiation in the first instance.

If a dispute cannot be resolved through negotiation, you agree to submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts in your country of residence for disputes that cannot be resolved by other means.

Nothing in these Terms limits your rights as a consumer under applicable local consumer protection laws.

11 Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by:

• Sending an email to your registered email address
• Displaying a notice in the app
• Updating the "Last updated" date at the top of this page

Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of any changes constitutes your acceptance of the revised Terms. If you do not agree with the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and may delete your account.
